After seeing the design of the bottle label, I decided to pick this bottle to drink for the night.
“Modern Senkin Muku” (モダン仙禽 無垢)
I was at this bar in Hong Kong called “SAKETEN”. Inside their huge glass window display, I instantly fell in love with its design. The kanji of “Senkin” (仙禽) means spirited animal. The calligraphy looks exactly like two cranes dancing and spreading their wings, giving a modern twist to the Japanese tradition. By portraying the story of “the crane that serves God”, it seems like a design that will be very popular among foreigners.
Strong black strokes written/drawn by big brushes makes the whole design comes to life, it feels like the cranes are coming out from the 2D bottle label! The ink splatter gives you a feeling like “the art was finished within one minute” and this right here is some master craft! Although it looks simple and casual, it must took AGES of trial and errors to finalize the design.

The sake itself tasted very fruity and lustrous. It feels like a taste ladies will prefer. The juicy and unique taste is definitely worth a try!
