The anime Cell at Work was well-received after airing in 2018, so is the second season, which just started to air this January.
‘Cell at Work!’ is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Akane Shimizu. It features the personified cells inside the human body, with two main characters: the red blood cell and the white blood cell.
The manga will come to an end in the March issue of Monthly Shōnen Sirius. To commemorate the end of this manga, a special edition of “Junmai Daiginjo Baibaikin (similar to “bye-bye bacteria”)” is sold at 6,600 yen starting from the end of February 2021.
“Junmai Daiginjo Baibaikin” has the character White Blood Cell on the label. With an ink-painting style, the bottle label highlights White Blood Cell’s sharp gaze and always on-alert attitude. The outside wooden box has the series title ‘Cell at Work!’ imprinted on it. There is also a bottleneck decoration inspired by Red Blood Cell and White Blood Cell. The attention to detail makes it even more worth it to collect!
This commemorative and collaborative sake, made by a famous sake brewery in Fukushima called ほまれ酒造 (Homare Brewery). It is brewed with carefully-picked Banshu Yamadanishiki with a polishing ratio of 39%, quite a high-quality Junmai Daiginjo. The sake has an aroma that resembles tropical fruit such as mango and blackcurrant. It has a mellow taste with a fresh after-taste, with the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. Well suited for sake lovers to amateurs.
