On November 18, 2020, the ” Sake & Food Pairing Luxury Seminar ” was held at the Hotel Chinzanso in Tokyo, Japan.
Various plans were made to discover the many delights of sake at this event, and people were able to enjoy sake from morning to night.
The venue, Hotel Chinzanso, is a luxury hotel located in Mejiro, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. The garden, which spreads out in the broad site, shows a different look each season, and it is popular as a luxury hotel that you want to stay at least once.
Here are some of the seminars held at this event at such a hotel.
First of all, the seminar to experience Hotel Chinzanso Japanese Cuisine Lunch and sake pairing with Ms. Chiba Marie as a lecturer was held.
Thanks to the detailed discussions between the Chinzanso chef and Ms. Chiba, pairing tricks were applied throughout the dishes and the delicate and exquisite pairings were enjoyed from start to finish.
Next up was an academic seminar with an invited sake brewer. The participants were able to experience the characteristics of sake made by rice and yeast, and what factors determine its character, along with a special sake prepared for them.
There was also a French food and sake & wine pairing dinner. A lecturer from Conrad Tokyo was invited to pair wine and sake with the same dish at the same time, which was a rare experience for the participants.
Those listed above are just a few; many other seminars have been conducted. Due to the influence of COVID-19, virtual experiences such as online seminars are becoming more and more common these days. However, there are some emotions that can only be experienced in these types of real-life experiences. I think this seminar was a great opportunity to realize that.
This is not a one-time event, and a similar event is scheduled for December 2, 2020 (though the seminar content may change). Nowadays, there are concerns about the spread of infection, so Hotel Chinzanso also has thorough measures in place to prevent the spread of infection. However, it would be difficult to attend on the same day, as travel to Japan from other countries should actually be avoided. But on the other hand, considering that it has been done several times in such a short period of time, you can fully expect similar events to be held in the future. Why not enjoy the best “real-world” experience at one of the most scenic hotels in Japan when you can safely attend?
