Needless to say, the most representative liquor in Japan is “sake”. An event where you can enjoy sake and Japanese culture at the same time was held in Shinjuku, Tokyo from August 11th to 16th. Its name was “TOKYO SAKE FESTIVAL 2020”.
The event, dubbed “Sake event that makes the future of Japan fun,” has become a large-scale event that lives up to its name. I will introduce the charm today!
・The overwhelming number of sake breweries!
Since this event was a sake event, how many breweries would participate was the first important point in estimating the scale of the event. So I checked the number of participating breweries…51! Since there are only 47 prefectures in Japan, more breweries participated than the number of divisions in Japan! Well, not all breweries from all prefectures participate, but it was still a large-scale event where you could enjoy sake that should be enjoyed on a nationwide scale in one place.

This was a sake event, but the fun was not limited to sake. One of Japan’s world-class cultures is anime. This event has incorporated anime and sake!
By creating a character with the image of sake and having a famous cosplayer in Japan cosplay it, the two-dimensional world and sake collaborated. At the venue, other animations on the theme of sake were screened, which stimulated otaku culture.
Not only that. Sake with the idol label “Moeshu” was also on sale, and by purchasing this, you could take a picture with “Cheki” with the idol who cosplayed! “Cheki” is a system that represents Japanese modern idol culture. The “profit” that allows you to enjoy sake and idols at the same time was attractive. Various other artists also appeared as guests, and it was an event where you could experience Japanese culture at once.
